Purebred LaMancha, Sire Bar-V LSJ Black Jack Dam Udder Lee Queen Esther
Angel was our original Munchie, and though she certainly doesn't live up to her name, she's managed to stay around because of her progeny. She has earned 2 legs toward her permanent championship, and has done well this year as a 5 year old. Her first daughter finished her permanent championship this year, and I have great expectations for her 2006 doe kid, Cocoa. Angel was the 2nd place 4 year old LaMancha and 1/2 of the 3rd place Dam & Daughter with Jelly, and and part of the 3rd place LaMancha herd at the 2005 Ohio State Fair.

Unfortunately, we lost Angel this year, unexpectedly, in May, to reasons undetermined (necropsy was inconclusive) Her impact on the LaMancha herd was great, and she'll not soon be forgotten.

3-M Farms Sweet Maddie 1*M (Maddie) - 2002-2007
+EVE 86
American Saanen, Sire McQuitty-Farm Alston Dam 3-M-Farms Liliana
Maddie is the grandaughter to the 1998 Natioanl GCH 3-M Farm Lucy. As with the other does from this line, maturity takes it's time but it's well worth it. As a two year old first freshener, Maddie possessed a beautiful udder, but lacked in general appearance. With the lack of points in GA Maddie still held her own in the showring placing 2nd or 3rd at 8 of the 9 shows we attended. Maddie is as sweet as can be and milks, milks, milks. She freshened for the second time in April. Her two 2004 daughters placed extremely well all show season and at the 2004 Nationals, and have matured beautifully as 2 year olds. An unsuccessful AI attempt on Maddie forced me to repeat the breeding for 2005. Her daughter, Chazberry Lane Sweet Dreams, resides with Kirt Schnipke & Family of the Ober Boerd herd as the lone Saanen. Maddie was kept at home for most shows in 2005, but was the 1st place 3 year old, 1st udder and 2nd udder overall udder, as well as 1/2 of the 1st place dam and daughter at the 2005 Ohio State Fair. Maddie was bred to Willow Run Stormfront Stuck Up in 2005, and produced another 2 beautiful daughters, retaining her outstanding record not only for amazing progeny, but for doe to buck ratios :). As a 4 year old, Maddie continues to milk herself to death and though she'll never step into a show ring again for this reason, her value in progeny remains to be unmatched. Maddie's daughter, CH Chazberry Lane Sweet Caroline finished her permanent championship this year as a 1st freshening 2 year old, and her other milking daughter, Chazberry Lane Sweet Emotion earned 2 legs in '06 as a second freshening 2 year old. Emotion also earned her milking star on one day test in '06. 06/07 Breeding - +*B King Farm Dream Sir Duke C.J. for March kids.

Words cannot even express how deeply Maddie is missed. In July of 2007, Maddie fell ill and spent her last days at OSU being treated for listeriosis (which, per the necropsy, she did not have) We made the hard decision of having Maddie put to sleep, as we could not seem to make her better, nor could we stand the thought of her suffering. We'd always said that if every goat had the personality of Maddie, we'd have a million. There is not a day that goes by that we don't think of Maddie, or the impact that she had on the Saanen herd. Maddie has three finished daughters, GCH Chazberry Lane Sweet Emotion 2*M, CH Chazberry Lane Sweet Caroline and CH Chazberry Lane Sweet Dreams. She has 2 finished granddaughters, CH Chazberry Lane Finding Me Moe and GCH Chazberry Lane Quasi Moe Doe 3*M. Her other progeny, Chazberry Lane Sweet Chariot (daughter), Chazberry Lane Marishka (granddaughter), Chazberry Lane Cinderella (granddaughter), Chazberry Lane Phantom Carlita (granddaughter), Chazberry Lane Phantom QTip (great granddaughter), have earned their place in the herd both by merit and by being a reflection of the grand doe that Maddie was. We love you, Mad, and miss you terribly. We hope that wherever you are, you're finally *dry* and *fat*...you deserve it, kiddo.

Chazberry Lane D. Gabby (Gabbers)

American Nubian, Sire Willow Run Valmont Gunnar Dam Gallimore's-Nubians Donna
A little tank of a doe, Gabby melds the immense power of her sire with the structured feminity of her dam. Gabby was shown several times as a kid, easily placing in or at the top of her class each time, and was second place in the Distric IV Nubian specialty ring. She was bred to her littermate brother and produced 2 07 buck kids. Though the boys nursed (and went to market) Gabby had (she's now dry :)) a beautiful, well attached mammary.

Gabby's death was one of those "here today, gone tomorrow" situations that are never easy to comprehend, much less deal with. We came back from a show to find Gabby acting "off." By the next morning, she had uncontrollable bloat, couldn't get up, and was having seizures. Despite all of our efforts, we lost her. Necropsy reports came back positive for polio. Sadly, had we known what we were dealing with, we probably could have saved her.
